A year ago, I submitted a graphic design piece to Chiasma: Where Asian Meets Asian American, the 2009 Asian American Cultural Center Arts Festival.  ”Name Tag” was a collection of anonymous unedited comments in response to the open-ended question “Van Trinh Quoc Nguyen – what do you think of my name?” They were collected online over a 48-hour period from friends, acquaintances, and strangers at Yale and from home.  For this blog post, I have only reproduced the comments.
The original “Name Tag,” printed on six pieces of cardstock, was displayed like this:Â http://picasaweb.google.com/asianamericanculturalcenter/ArtsFestival#5300443075389673906 and can currently be viewed at the AACC.

I kind of wish I had four names too… how did you decide to go by Trinh?
My mom’s name is Van, so I was only introduced by both first names in formal settings.
